I am a relatively new runner, training for a half marathon in October. All has been going really well - short runs during week, long runs on Sundays. Have built up to six miles and enjoying it. Then CATASTROPHE! pulled gluteus minimus and had to hobble home after mile. Have been to sports clinic for some physio and advice on stretching exercises, but it is still sore after nearly a fortnight.
I urgently want to know what to do...it hurts after a 20 min walk. Should I persevere with using it, perhaps cross training, should I start running (slowly) while it is still hurting? Or should I wait until it is COMPLETELY pain free? Please advise me! I so want to carry on with training. Thanks......

Hey, i wouldv'e thought the best thing to do is to wait and take it easy until its pretty much completely healed, otherwise you will probably make the injury worse if you try to work on it.

I think that the general rule is to rest until the pain is gone completely.
Nothing to be gained by trying to run through it.
Keep on with the stretching and get yourself back to the fizzies for advice.
