Whichever activity you do first is going to have a negative impact on the second. If you want to focus on running, you'll probably have to live with lifting lighter weights.

Personally, I would lift weights first in a workout, and then run - but usually at an even slower rate than usual.

However, I don't do the two activities in the same workout at the moment, so I can give my full energy to that activity.
