Hi all,

I popped into Aldi today to pick up some gear and got a couple of pairs of socks, which seemed a bit small at 6-8 (I'm a size 12). I didn't realise till about an hour ago that there were 8-11 sizes (or similar) so wouldn't mind changing. My only question is, should they have run out of my size, or won't exchange, will running in a smaller pair do me any damage?

I'd assume not but thought I'd best check!

Ooh, also, while I'm on the subject of Aldi's stuff, would anyone recommend their trainers in the current deal? I'm struggling to believe that a £12 pair of shoes will do just as good a job (or anywhere near as good a job) as even a cheap £30 pair from a sports shop...

If the socks fit, they should be okay - the real test is to see what state your feet are in after a run in them! Even correctly fitting socks can cause grief from time to time.

As for the trainers, I really can't comment - but my guess would be their a basic everyday shoe styled to look like a running shoe without the research and development that goes into the branded trainers you see in your local running specialists. As I say, just my guess - I could well be proven wrong!

Nah, that's pretty much what I suspected, but was just wondering if anyone had picked a pair up and actually rated them at all.

I actually run in aldi branded shoes, they are really good and comfortable, i acutally prefer them to the nike air pegasus and asics trainers to be honest.
