Ran the Yorkshire Veterans Track & Field Championships today - 200m (37.87), 400m (86.63), 800m (3.25.58) and 1500m (6.59.38) - and acquired 4 Gold medals. I say 'acquired' because I was the only one competing in the MV80 category! Read my Blog (below) for details.

Well done you. Is this an advantage of running when you get older? My first ever race - a 5km in France, I came last by quite a long way but came away with an armful of prizes as I was the only person in my category!

Thanks Pam. As we move up the age categories there's less and less competition so yes, it's definitely an advantage - until we get to the stage when it's just a matter of how long we can go on outliving our contemporaries!
